A spec sheet says what a computer should do. These two tests say what yours just did, a second ago, in this tab. Both are real work — arithmetic and pixels — timed to the microsecond.
Processor test

This is the number that collapses when a machine is overheating, throttling, or fighting background software.
Graphics test

When this comes back low, scrolling stutters and video drops frames — the two things people describe as "it feels slow".

This machine is working with a small amount of memory.
This is the single most common reason a computer that "used to be fast" is not any more. A memory upgrade is usually the cheapest repair we do and the one people notice most.

Most laptops and desktops take this. Some thin laptops have the memory soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded at all — we check before you commit to anything.

Processing speed came back below what we would expect.
That can mean thermal throttling from dust-clogged fans, a failing drive, or background software eating cycles. All three are things we diagnose in one visit.

This is the fix when a machine has quietly got slower over years. If the cause turns out to be a failing drive or malware instead, we say so and quote that rather than doing this anyway.

Graphics performance is low for the resolution you are running.
Your display is asking for more pixels than the graphics hardware is comfortably pushing, which shows up as choppy scrolling and stuttering video. Often a driver problem rather than a hardware one.

Price depends entirely on what you need it to do and what your machine can take — a card for spreadsheets on a 4K monitor and a card for gaming are very different numbers. This one genuinely needs a conversation.

Your graphics are being drawn in software, not by a GPU.
The graphics driver has failed or fallen back, so the processor is doing work the graphics card should be doing. Everything on screen is slower than it needs to be, and this is normally a quick fix.

Usually a software fix rather than a hardware one. If it turns out the card itself has failed, this becomes a diagnosis fee and we quote the repair separately.

Your connection is testing slow right now.
Sometimes that is the provider and sometimes it is the router, the wiring or the wi-fi placement. We sort out which before anyone spends money on a faster plan.

This machine is running low on free space.
A drive over about 90 percent full slows the whole system down and can stop updates from installing. Cleanup and, where it makes sense, a bigger or faster drive.

You are running on battery, and it is getting low.
Not a fault by itself — but if a full charge is not lasting the way it used to, battery replacement is a same-day job on most laptops.

Same-day on most models. Some newer laptops glue the battery in, which takes longer and costs more — we will tell you which yours is before starting.

This looks like an older operating system.
Older systems stop receiving security updates, and more software drops support every year. We will tell you honestly whether yours is worth upgrading or replacing.

Free to assess. Some machines this age are worth upgrading and some are worth replacing — we would rather tell you it is the second one than take your money for the first.

This machine is testing healthy from the browser. That does not rule out failing drives, dust, or malware — none of which a web page can see — but you are not obviously bottlenecked.

WHAT THIS CANNOT SEE
A web page is sandboxed, on purpose. Anyone claiming a browser scan found a virus on your computer is lying to you. Here is the honest boundary:
- Viruses and malware — a web page cannot read your files, and any site that says it found some is running a scam
- Drive health — SMART data, reallocated sectors, and imminent failure are invisible from here
- Dust, fan noise, and heat — the most common causes of a slow machine, and all three need eyes on it
- Windows errors, driver conflicts, and startup bloat — none of it is exposed to a browser
- Your actual RAM total — browsers round it and cap the number they report, so we read it as a floor, not a fact
